2008 Growers Day Held on June 7

Our annual Growers Day, a full-day program of talks on orchids and orchid growing, was held on June 7, at the Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh.  Our speakers were Linda Thorne, an American Orchid Society Judge, Officer of the International Phalaenopsis Alliance, commercial grower, and orchid hybridizer, and Steven Frowine, a national horticultural expert and author of four books on orchids. Over 50 people attended, learned about growing and selecting orchids, had a great lunch, and took home a blooming or budded Cattelya orchid. You can see pictures in our July newsletter. If you missed Growers Day this year, you can still attend our monthly meetings, Fall Auction (to be held in September), and of course, there will be another Growers Day next year.
